Intimate weddings by the sea
Hi, I’m Nicolas.
I have lived on Île de Ré all my life and I photograph weddings on the island only. I know the venues, the golden light and the tides. I work in English, from our first video call to the delivery of your gallery, with no travel costs to add.
Île de Ré was made for small weddings. By the sea, among the salt marshes or in a typical island venue, every corner of the island gives you its own setting and its own view.

How does it work?
-
You write to me through the form with as much detail as you can, then we meet on a video call in English: you tell me about your day, I explain how I work.
-
The contract is signed online and the 40% deposit is paid by bank transfer. Your date is reserved as soon as I receive both.
-
It is included: 35 minutes on the island, the day before the wedding or during your stay. We get to know each other and you get used to the camera.
-
Delivered within 12 weeks in a private online gallery, open for 12 months.

The legal side. In France, only the civil ceremony at the town hall is legally binding. To marry there, one of you usually needs to have lived in the town for at least a month before the banns are published, or to have a close tie to it. Most couples from abroad marry legally at home, before or after, and celebrate on the island with a symbolic ceremony. Check the rules of your own country before you plan.
Getting here. La Rochelle is your gateway: its airport has seasonal direct flights from the UK and Ireland, and the high-speed train links Paris to La Rochelle in about three hours. The bridge to the island is a short drive from both.
When to come. Most weddings on the island take place between May and September. June and September are calmer, with long golden evenings. July and August are the busiest weeks, on the island and on the bridge.
Venues. Venues on Île de Ré are small and come with their own rules: limited dates, music curfews, guest numbers. A local wedding planner makes all of this simple from abroad.

They trusted me with their day
“On the day, he found the right balance between being present, reassuring, and discreet enough for us to forget he was there. It felt like having one more friend among our guests.” — C & R
“He is a good communicator, provides good advice upfront, is a local and knows the island well. He put the entire family (we were 12) at ease, including the small children.” — Emiel B., family session

If my approach and my pricing feel right for you, fill in the form and tell me as much as you can about the two of you and your wedding. When I receive it, I will suggest a video call in English to get to know each other, answer your questions and talk about the schedule of your day. We will also talk about my approach, the options, the work you don't see and the delivery of your photos.
